OAuth permissions
OAuth permissions
Neolli requests the following Google OAuth scopes:
- youtube.readonly — Read video metadata for import
- youtube.force-ssl — Upload captions and localized metadata via the YouTube API
Importing a YouTube video
When adding a video, paste a YouTube URL instead of uploading a file. Neolli fetches the video for processing — the original stays on YouTube unchanged.Pushing captions to YouTube
Once translation is complete:- Open the video workspace
- Find the completed language track
- Click Upload to YouTube
What gets pushed
- Captions — Translated caption tracks in SRT format, merged with the source transcript for optimal YouTube display
- Metadata — Localized video titles and descriptions for each language (improves international discoverability)
YouTube uses localized metadata to show the appropriate title and description to viewers based on their language settings. Pushing translated metadata significantly improves discoverability in international markets.
